Options
The features here allows you to configure the settings of your users profile and registrations. If you install MDLite in Windows network environment, the system will provide you LDAP activation to synchronize the Login system with your Windows authentication.
User registration:
- Allow new user registration: If you tick the box it means you will allow a self registration by anyone who visit to your site.
- New registrations must approved by administrator: You required to approve a new user before their account will be activated.
- Full registration profile: All user profile fields will be shown at user's registration page. Or you can use a simple one where only required field will be available in the registration page.
- Allow user to set the password at registration: User can choose their own password from the registration page.
- Require activation for new accounts: User receive email with link and code to activate account.
- Enable Security Code for new registration: To prevent from automatic scripting, you can provide the security code enable to validate the page fill by human. A security code is an image with text label that must be entered in the validation field.
- Minimum password length: Enter the password length here.
- Minimum age: This is a legacy feature from Nuke system. Enter 0 or empty the field to by pass the age verification.
User profile:
- Allow theme changing: If enable, the user can select their own theme layout from themes available under themes directory. This option will be disable in MDChannel mode.
- Allow home link changing: User can choose how many news article will be displayed in Home Page and user also can add their own menu from their My Account page.
- Allow user to delete their own account: This function allow user to delete their account. The account will be deleted by Administrator.
System:
- Strict check email address: If you select user login using an email address, you can activate this option to validate the email address.
- JavaScript validation: This is to validate Java Script.
- Enable Security Code for login: This option will work the same as the security code for new registration above. And will be enable for any login users.
- Days until unactivated or unapproved requests are removed: This is to prevent human errors while deleting the user account. You can locate how many days until the account will be removed permanently.
- Password expiration period, days: If enable, you can force your users to change their password on certain days period.
- Delete user data in case of inactivity: If enable the system can delete an inactive user account.
- Crypt password algorithm: Select MD5 or SHA1 password encryption.
Notification: Administrators will receive emails notification for new accounts or accounts removal request. A approval waiting links will automatically added in the admin main control panel page.
